“I want to take the time to thank you for your dedication, obedience, and commitment to God’s word and your ongoing service and counsel in the much needed fields of addiction counseling and group therapy. I’d also like to thank you for the time you give me as we meet one on one. I truly value those times and look forward to many more! Again David, I thank you and Shawn for your selfless loving service. I offer my life as evidence that your efforts are worthy and you make a difference.”

“Hello David. I am writing to once again ask for prayer and suggestions you might have for our son, James. He has been out of jail now since May. He lived at home with us again until his behavior crossed boundaries and he had to move out. He lives alone in an apartment nearby. He is in terrible mental shape!! He continues to be involved with alcohol and drugs if he can get them, (he has little cash). Everything good for him, he refuses, at least after a couple of days of seemingly compliance. Well, thanks for caring and I will wait to hear from you as the Lord leads. We just can’t give up hope as long as he is alive!!!”

“Dear Rev. Dave. I’m writing to thank you for sowing seed in my life through your ministry work, your book, and all the love that you showed the brothers. Thank you for sharing with me the powerful teachings of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, that gave me hope for freedom from bondage to sex and drugs.”

“Dear David. I’m just writing this letter to thank you for everything you have done in the little time you have known me. Thank you for believing in me. You have been such a good friend and brother in Christ to me.”

“David. Hello. First of all let me express my extreme gratitude to you for the work that you do with us dealing with addictions from drugs to sex. I really believe that people who do the Lord’s work and sacrifice for the Lord and others don’t receive the proper thanks from the people they help. And I know that you are not looking for thanks from man but I really need to thank you from my heart. When I heard you say in group that you loved me, my heart was touched. Never have those words touched me in a way except from my mother and brothers and made me realize how much God loves me and tells me that everyday.”

"I recently had tech opportunity to sit in on a couple session that David was teaching in LCP. A few things stood out to me. First was the honesty of the inmates as they discussed their struggle and failures. They were honest about what they did and the pain that they cause their victims. Along with the honesty, they expressed their sorrow for the hurt they had caused.
Secondly, I could feel their desperate desire to change and to live the way that God wants them to. The consequences that they are suffering from their actions are being used by God to clean them up and change them. Once released, their desire is to lead whole and productive lives. They fear returning to their old lives and so they reach out to God and other Christians to help them on their journey.
The third thing I noticed was their concern for each other. As they shared their struggles in class, they reached out to each other through their tears and laughter. David has a wonderful way of leading the discussion in a productive and timely manner. Please pray for David and the class participants in this life changing program.
Jesus said "Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these, my brethren, you did it to Me." I feel that the church today has often failed to reach out to "the least" in our society. As these men return to society they need places to live, jobs, mentors and a group of believers they can worship with. "
